Jersey Shore

Mike and I took our last trip of the summer last week. We packed our bags and headed out to the Jersey Shore to visit his family. Just like previous years, the Jersey Shore did not disappoint! We spent the week hanging out with the family, sunning on the beach (or if you are me, sitting on the beach under the umbrella), and eating the best pizza ever.

I am going to start with the pizza because it was that good.
This is the best pizza I have ever had. EVER. It was a white pie with pesto, tomato, and mozzarella. I ate this pizza 4 times. yes, 4 times. I also ate pizza every day that I was there except for one day. My waistline hates me right now.

Besides pizza, our week was filled with bike rides, beach, and family. What a great way to spend the week.

I also ate my first water ice. Delicious!

Here we are at a bar called Yesterday's. I am wearing my hat courtesy of Val and Gene. Thanks, guys!
Here we are in Cape May. We spent the day walking around this gorgeous, quaint town.

Here we are on our last night at a seafood restaurant in Ocean City.

SPI

Mike and I headed down to South Padre Island last weekend. We had planned on staying a week and spending the holiday there, but hurricane Alex cut our trip short.

I went down a few days early to spend time with my family and Mike joined me on Saturday. We headed down to the island to stay at my dad's place. Thanks, Dad!

Sunday we went fishing in the bay with my dad. We didn't catch anything and had to end up coming back early because the boat was taking on water. Scary!

Monday was spent lounging on the beach and allowing Shah to swim in the ocean for the first time. He loved it! We ended up coming back on Tuesday because of the weather, but had a great time anyways.

Our last night there. We got a drink at Pirate's Landing.

Cabo

Mike and I are back from Cabo. Our vacation can be summed up in a few words: beach, pool, margaritas, guacamole, repeat. Needless to say it was wonderful!

We spent our few days there relaxing on the beach, sipping margaritas, and reading. Cabo is beautiful! We didn't do much exploring, but if we had been there longer, I know we would have.

We stayed at Cabo Azul Resort. I would highly recommend it! It was our first time not doing the all-inclusive thing, but we really enjoyed it! Since we had a full kitchen, it made eating much easier and more economical.

Here we are on our last night enjoying drinks in the tower at the Crowne Plaza. It had a great view!

Sunrises on the beach.

Hugs on the beach.
Walks on the beach.

Mountains surrounding the beach.

Our hotel was a one bedroom with full kitchen, that I am pretty sure was bigger than our first apartment.

Dining area.

Kitchen.

Patio.

Bedroom.

We were sad to leave, but we are looking forward to our other summer trips. Next up: McAllen/South Padre!

Blue Run

After this video was taken, I proceeded to make it down the mountain verrrrrrrrrrry slowly. I fell multiple times, but Mike was there to walk me through it all. He is a sweetheart!

Tahoe Videos

Here we are on the first night. It was snowing hard when we arrived in Tahoe; the town got 12 inches. You can see my graceful walk. Are you surprised that I broke my foot last year?

Tahoe

Mike and I will be headed to Tahoe for a couple days on Friday. We are going with a couple of his friends from work. It should be a good time! I am super excited because I got the OK from my doctor to ski! Wahoo! Mike loves Tahoe because there is snowboarding AND gambling! We will post more pictures when we return.

Scream Central

We are back in Texas!!! The weather here is awful! Drizzly and cold. I hate this weather. Mike and I are getting back into the swing of things. As much as we love being on vacation, we do really love being at home. I will be uploading videos from our trip this week. We have some great ones! Here are two videos from our day of tubing with Lizzie.

Here is one of all three of us tubing. You get to hear my whiny voice begging Mike to hold on to me.

Toobin

My friend, Lizzie, came to visit us and keep me company while Mike is snowboarding. On Wednesday, we ate lunch, shopped, and then met up with Mike for drinks and dinner. Yesterday, we took the gondola up and went tubing. Lizzie and I were a bit scared at first, but had a blast!

This is the view up by the tubing spot. What a gorgeous sunset.

Beaver Creek

On Tuesday, Mike and I traveled to Beaver Creek. Mike snowboarded and I walked around town, took in the sights, and sat by a fire.

In the afternoon, Mike joined me by the fire.

It really was a gorgeous day.

Mountains are Blue

Mike and his friend Matt ventured up the mountain to a place called Blue Sky Basin. I was quite jealous that I could not venture up there with them. Only skiers/snowboarders are allowed up there. Since I am still recovering from my broken foot, I am not skiing this trip, and am not allowed up. :(

At this magical place, you can bring your own beer and grill your own meat. So, Matt filled up his backpack with some Coors Lights, chicken, and tortillas, and they made there way up there after a morning of snowboarding and skiing.

If you are a fan of Coors Light, then you know how important it is for the mountains to be blue. They were definitely blue up there.

In Hot Water

Today Mike and I took a trip down to Glenwood Springs to visit their natural hot springs. Despite the smell of sulfur (mmmmmmmm rotten eggs!) it was quite pleasant! They had two pools, one that was heated to 104 degrees and one that was 90 degrees. It was so nice to sit in the water and look at the mountains.

We were also lucky enough to have a gorgeous view on the way there.

An Oldie, but Goodie

This is not from our current trip to Vail. This is from our trip to Tahoe last spring. I was organizing our pictures and videos today and I thought it was funny. Enjoy!

Vail

Mike and I landed in Vail on Sunday are staying until February 7th.  Two weeks filled with snow!  I can't ski because of my foot, BUT I am officially walking with two real shoes.  Exciting!  Mike has been enjoying snowboarding and Duke loves playing in the snow.  He acts like a puppy!  I will update the pictures this week with our adventures.

Like my high-water ski pants?

Here we are at the dog park.
